The follow extract is displayed onboard Shagga for benefit of future passengers information.

 

Welcome aboard MV Shagga from the Auckland Maritime Adventure Company.  To ensure your trip is as safe and enjoyable as possible the following information is provided for your safety, and as matter for compliance with regards to overall Maritime Safety. 

Please identify any existing medical conditions that your Skipper needs to be aware of prior to proceeding to sea.

SAFETY

The following safety equipment is located onboard the vessel, in the stowage’s as annotated:

Port (left hand) side of cabin. Compulsory at Skippers direction

Fire Extinguishers (1kg and 2kg)

Dry powder type, Forward of Skipper seat at deck level

Safety Flares

In yellow waterproof container below Skipper’s chair

Emergency Position Indicator Radio Beacon (EPIRB)

Port (left hand) side of cabin

HAZARDS

The following hazards are applicable to Shagga, with attention and care to be taken at all times: 

  • No passengers are permitted on top of the cabin whilst underway
  • No sitting on the cockpit sides whilst underway
  • Maintain at least a single handhold on to any of the grab rails whilst underway
  • Be aware of sharp fishing knives and hooks
  • All surfaces become very slippery when wet
  • Pay particular attention to the vessels potential movement due to waves during launch and retrieve operations

The only dumb question onboard is the one you don’t ask!  Have a great and safe day.
